This is the ideal way to enjoy learning French: a four-week immersion program for French majors and others who would like concentrated work in the language and the opportunity to experience the culture of Provence. The program is located in the beautiful city of Nice on the Riviera, one of the most celebrated and attractive areas of France.
Students will be placed in intensive conversational classes according to their level of proficiency, will have three hours of concentrated instruction per day and various cultural activities in and around Nice, and will live with a host family in which only French is spoken.
This program is open to students with various levels of fluency in French. Students below the intermediate level must have the French Department's approval to participate.
- There will be a program supplement for each participant in the Nice program.
- Students may elect to have additional weeks of language study for an additional supplement.
- For participants who pay their own expenses, the cost — inclusive except for lunches and incidentals — is approximately $3200.
- The required orientation sessions for this program will meet with Dr. Eric Lien and/or Belk Program staff from 4:35 to 5:50 on selected Tuesdays during the Spring Term.
